Lee Sun Kyu (이순규) or her stage name Sunny (써니) is member of South Korean girl group Girls' Generation or SNSD. Sunny was born in United States when she was still an infant they moved to Kuwait and then to South Korea around the time of the Gulf War, because of her experienced with Gulf war Sunny has a Phobia with loud, and kracking noises such as fireworks. Sunny's father was in the college band Hwaljooro with Bae Chul-soo. She is the niece of Lee Soo Man, CEO of SM Entertainment. Sunny has two older sisters, whose their birthday just like Sunny, but they were born in different years.

In 2007, Sunny was recommended by the Korean Singer Ayumi, who transferred to SM Entertainment. Compared to other members, Sunny is the only member with short times training period. Sunny trained about 9 months under the SM Entertainment. Because previously, since 1998 Sunny was a trainee under a different entertainment company before she transferred into SM Entertainment. She was trained for more than 5 years in Wheesung's company but the company went bankrupt. In 2007, in the same year with her training, Sunny put into group Girls' Generation or SNSD. In July 2007 Girls' Generation had their unofficial first stage performance with their single 'Into the New World' on Mnet School of Rock. On August 5, 2007 Girls’ Generation had their official debut stage on SBS Inkigayo with their single debut 'Into the New World'.

Sunny did not go to college but she completed high school in Baehwa All-Girls High School. Sunny said that it is more important to pursue the dream of becoming a good singer. Sunny is the sortest member of Girls Generation. Sunny is often considered a maknae Girls' Generation because of her small, cute face, and its funny. In addition to Yuri, Sunny is also a member who frequently make mistakes when they are performing. They often point to one another when making a mistake. Sunny be the best mother in the show SNSD's Hello Baby since he was very fond of small children. While Tiffany became the worst mother at the show.

In 2008, Sunny was a co-DJ of Reckless Radio along with Super Junior Sungmin replace her band mate Sooyoung until the broadcast ended on the July 30, 2008. Sunny appeared in Super Junior Happy's music video for "Cooking? Cooking!". In 2009, she will be hosting a Music Show called “The M” with SS501 Kim Hyung Jun and 2AM Seulong. Sunny took part in voice acting for animated film Koala Kid: Birth of A Hero with fellow labelmate SHINee Taemin. On March 28th, 2012 until June 10th, 2012 Sunny played the lead role of ‘Brenda Strong’ in the Korean production of Broadway musical ‘Catch Me If You Can’. Her performance received positive critical review.
