Kim Hyun Joong (김현중) is South Korean singer and actor. Hyun Joong is leader South Korean boyband SS501. He a prominent style icon in Korea and winning multiple icon awards. When Kim Hyun Joong in junior high school grade 2, he started working part time, he working as a waiter in a family restaurant, located at Jamsil-dong. Because of this, his school grades suffered whereas before he was a diligent student in elementary school and received high scores.
During Kim Hyun Joong's late teen years, he felt the subjects he was learning in high school were useless for his life and consequently decided to drop out of high school. He dropped out of school and he decided to become a singer. When he in 18th years old, Kim Hyun Joong performed in a youth band named 'Aksuseu' with Hyun Joong's Church friends. While working part time jobs, Kim Hyun Joong had follow auditions, he become a member of boy band SS501. Hyun Joong returned to school and graduated in 2006 after debuting as a member of SS501. In 2011, he studied in Chungwoon University to study stage production management. In February of 2012, He studied in Kongju Communication Arts (KCAU) to study applied music.
On June 8, 2005 Kim Hyun Joong debuted as leader SS501 with their first single "Warning". In SS501 Hyun joong is one of the most popular members. Although he looks like a pretty boy, Hyun Joong has a 'tough guy' personality and is known to be very straightforward. In May 2008, Hyun Joong joined the cast of We Got Married with Korean singer and actress Hwang Bo who is 6 years older than him in episode nine. They known as the 'Lettuce Couple'. On December 14, 2008 the couple exit from the show in episode 38, because Hyun Joong busy with schedule in Boys Over Flowers.

After Break Down, Hyun Joong released his second mini album 'Lucky' on 11 October 2011. On 25 October 2011, Hyun Joong released a digital single with Girls Generation Seohyun 'The Magic of Yellow Ribbon', theme song for a commercial for The Face Shop. Success with his two mini album, Hyun Joong comeback with his digital album Marry You/Marry Me on 15 December 2011 and his Japanese single Kiss Kiss and Lucky Guy. In 2012, Hyun Joong comeback with his new SBS television drama 'City Conquest' as Baek Mir.
