SUPER JUNIOR'S PROFILE
Super Junior (슈퍼 주니어) or people generally knows as SUJU is South Korean boyband. Super Junior is group from SM Entertainment one of the largest entertainment companies in Asia. In November, 6 2005 Super Junior originally debuted with twelve members consisting of leader Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Donghae Heechul, Han Geng, Siwon, Shindong, Yesung, Kangin, Sungmin, Ryeowook and Kibum with their single debut "TWINS (Knock Out)" on SBS's music program Popular Song. Leeteuk and Eunhyuk were the first two members of the group to be recruited in 2000 under SM's Starlight Casting System in Seoul. In May 23, 2006 the members of Super Junior become thirteen people with the addition of Kyuhyun. Before the group settled with their current name, the company simply referred to them as super junior 05. After the addition of their 13th member, the “05” was dropped and Super Junior became an official band. In May 25, 2006 after the addition of Kyuhyun, Super Junior released their single "U" for free download on their official website.
In 2007, the larger Super Junior broke into a number of sub projects, including Super Junior K.R.Y., Super Junior-T, Super Junior-M, and Super Junior Happy. Over the years, they have been divided into smaller sub groups, simultaneously targeting different music industries and audiences. Subgroup Super Junior K.R.Y consisting of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung become Super Junior's first sub unit focus on singing ballad songs debuted on November 5, 2006. The second subgroup, Super Junior-T consists of Heechul, Kangin, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk and Sungmin focuses on singing songs trot an old style of Korean pop music debuted on February 23, 2007. The third subgroup, Super Junior-M consists of Han Geng, Siwon, Donghae, plus two SM Trainees Henry and Zhou Mi, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook were added later focused on singing Mandarin Chinese songs debuted on October 2, 2007. The last subgroup, Super Junior Happy is composed of each member of Super Junior-T except Heechul to be replaced Yesung debuted on June 5, 2008. In March 9, 2009 Super Junior recognized by the international community through the single 'Sorry Sorry' in the same titled album 'Sorry Sorry' released on March 12, 2009.
In December 2009, Han Geng departed from the group after filing a lawsuit against their agency SM Entertainment. Han Geng’s lawyer stated the claimed reasons behind the action: provisions were in SM Entertainment’s favour, unlawful 13-year contract length, unfair sum of money to end the contract, not allowed to request to revise his contract, forced to do things that were not in his contract, forced to do things against his will, fined if he disobeyed the company, missed any events or even was late, and there was uneven profit distribution.
In September 1st, 2011 Heechul enlisted for his mandatory military service. Kangin was absent from the group for their fourth and fifth album promotions, but completed his service in April 2012, and will rejoin the group for their sixth album in 2012. Kibum also absent from the group while pursuing an acting career. In 2012, Super Junior with ten currently active members with the group consisting of leader Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Kyuhyun, Siwon, Shindong, Yesung, Sungmin, Kangin, and Ryeowook released their 6th album 'Sexy, Free, & Single' on July 1, 2012.
Super Junior's first major tour, Super Show, which begins on February 22, 2008 held in Seoul. The tour covered three countries and had shows on six different cities, including Bangkok, Shanghai, and Beijing. After the success of Sorry, Sorry, Super Junior commenced their second Asia-wide concert tour Super Show 2, on July 17, 2009 held in Seoul. In 2010 and 2011, Super Junior embarked on their third Asia-wide tour Super Show 3. In February 2011, Super Junior released a 3D movie version of their tour, Super Show 3 3D in all CGV and Primus movie theaters. The movie debuted at number six on the box office charts and went off to become the best-selling 3D movie in Korea. In November 2011 Super Junior began their first world tour, the Super Show 4.
