Ok Taecyeon is rapper in 2PM Boy Band. He was born in Busan, South Korea but immigrated to Bedford, Massachusetts at a young age. He originally auditioned for JYP Entertainment in New York to become a model. But the judges suggested he try dancing and singing. He was one of the participants audition in the show JYP Superstar Survival including his future bandmates Lee Junho and Hwang Chansung but he was the first contestant to leave the show. 

In 2010 he debuted as an actor in the KBS drama series Cinderella's Sister alongside Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung Myung. On January 3, 2011 He played his second drama, Dream High with his bandmate wooyoung He played the role of Jinguk or Hyun Shi Hyuk. Jin Guk is a childhood friend of Go Hye mi character played by Miss A's Suzy and he constantly tries to help her. He tries to get Hye mi to remember their childhood memories. He excels primarily at dancing and rapping. Taecyeon released his OST for KBS's Dream High 'My  Valentine' with his bandmate 2PM Nichkhun.

In September 2011 FujiTV announced that Taecyeon become a regular on their Sunday drama 'Boku to Star no 99 Nichi', along with Japanese actor Nishijima Hidetoshi and South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee as the two main characters. This is his first regular role on a Japanese drama.
