Min Sun Ye (민선예) or people generally known as Sunye (선예) is leader of South Korea girl group Wonder Girls. Beside singer Sunye was a danceractress, and songwriter. Sunye was born in SeoulSouth Korea on August 12, 1989. Sunye is fluent in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese. On July 1, 2001 Sunye was selected through auditions called the “Talent & Live Voice Project 99% Competition”. JYP Entertainment made this audition in order to find talented young females that would be trained for his first girl group and went through a trainee process for several years. She is one of the longest serving trainees of JYP with 2AM Jo Kwon and Miss A Min, she having trained from her discovery in 2001 up until her debut with the Wonder Girls in 2007 which is about 5 years and 6 months. On February 10, 2007, Sunye with her girl group Wonder Girls made their officially debuted with their single debut 'Irony' on MBC's Show! Music Core.


Sunye is the one people that always works whenever she has time. She also people who are willing to sacrifice for its members because she has a mature nature, spirited leadership, and she was accustomed to live independently. People say that Sunye has a cheerful personality, polite, and always think positive. Sunye was raised by her grandparents, as she lost her mother when she was very young and her father suffered from a health condition that kept him bedridden almost all of the time. In 2007, prior to the Wonder Girls' promotions for their single "Tell Me", Sunye's grandfather died. When her grandfather died, Sunye had not wanted to eat anything for a week and just cry over his grandfather. In October 2009, Sunye's father was rushed to the intensive care unit after his condition turned for the worse. Sunye took the first flight from New York, where she resided at the time, to South Korea, skipping out on numerous promotional events to be with her father. On June 23, 2010, Sunye lost her father to the chronic illness he had been suffering from for over 20 years.


In 2008 on SBS Gayo Daejeon, Sunye was perform "Stand Up for Love" with Davichi and Girls' Generation Taeyeon. In December 2008, she performed "Buttons" with Girls' Generation Taeyeon, KARA Gyuri, and Brown Eyed Girls Gain on KBS Music Bank. Sunye together with her band mate Yeeun, has collaborated with her labelmate, 2AM Jo Kwon, and their mentor, JYP, performing "That's What Friends Are For" on the KBS program "Yu Hee-Yeols' Sketchbook". On SBS Inkigayo's 500th Episode, Sunye and 2AM Jo Kwon sang the 2AM hit single "This Song" as a duet, garnering much praise. Sunye often makes charitable donations to various charities, hospitals, and orphanages around Korea. In mid-May 2011, Sunye went on a week long volunteer mission to Haiti where she cared for children in an orphanage and treated victims of cholera.
