f(x) Profile

F(X) PROFILE


f(x) is South Korea girl group under SM Entertainment one of the largest entertainment companies in Asia. The name of f(x) is taken from a mathematical function, when input with different 'x', there can be many different outcomes. The f stands for flower and the x represents the female's double x chromosome. This group is named f(x) as well as the background of its members who fill the 'x' is derived from several countries, not all are from Korea. f(x) strives to be the kind of girl group that can change and adapt to many situations. f(x) member consisting of Chinese leader Victoria, Taiwanese-American member Amber, Korean member Sulli and LunaKorean-American maknae KrystalKrystal gained early popularity due to being the younger sister of Girls' Generation Jessica.


On September 1, 2009 f(x) debuted with their single 'La Cha Ta' and on Septermber 2, their held a debut showcase at the Samseong-dong Fashion Center. Super Junior Leeteuk and Girls' Generation Sunny become MC for their event while another members Girls' Generation and SHINee attended for gave support. f(x) began their stage debut on September 5 at MBC's music show Show! Music Core. La Cha Ta's music video describe a girl group with a concept that has never been done before with a dynamic feel. On October 7, 2009 f(x) released the electro-pop version of the digital single, "Chocolate Love", with their label mate Girls' Generation for the promotion of the 4th edition Blacklabel series of LG CYON phone, LG Chocolate (BL40)On November 9, f(x) released their first single album, Chu~♡. 


On May 4, 2010 f(x) released their first mini-albumNu ABO. On May, 2010 f(x) made their live comebacks on KBS's Music Bank. Amber went on hiatus on June due to an ankle injury. The remaining group activities of the year 2010 were carried out without her. Amber comeback in album 'Pinocchio' after she returned from USA after a long leave since June 2010. Pinocchio released on April 20, 2011 and on April 22, 2011 f(x) held their first comeback stage through KBS’s Music Bank. On June 10, 2012 f(x) released their mini album titled ' Electric Shock'. Now, f(x) is preparing for their Japanese debut.
